چکیده

Accurate determination of the materials’ strength and ductility in semi-solid state at near-solidus temperatures is essential, but it remains a challenging task. This study aimed to develop new method determine stress-strain evolution aluminum alloys within Gleeble 3800 unit. Stress was determined by newly developed “L-gauge” method, which converted displacement “restrained” jaw, measured using an L-gauge, into force. gives possibility flow stress more accurately, especially for very low rang (1–10 MPa) temperatures. The digital image correlation technique implemented unit allowed effective measurement heterogeneous strain fields evolving specimen under tensile loading. Therefore, curves help better understand alloy’s susceptibility hot tearing. results AA6111 alloy different liquid fractions (2.8% 535 °C 5.8% 571 °C) were demonstrated. reliable data heterogenous distribution are beneficial thermomechanical models hot-tearing criteria.

High-strain-rate Deformation of Pure Aluminum Reinforced with 25% Alumina Submicron Particles near the Solidus Temperature

Discontinuously reinforced aluminum metal matrix composites (MMCs) with about 20 vol.% reinforcement produced by powder metallurgy (PM) are attractive for many structural applications because of their high specific strength and stiffness. While they exhibit reduced ductility and toughness at room temperature, many of them can be superplastically deformed at high-strain rates in the vicinity of ...

Characteristic Points of Stress-Strain Curve at High Temperature

Determination of critical points on hot stress-strain curve of metals is crucial in thermo-mechanical processes design. In this investigation a mathematical modeling is given to illustrate the behavior of metal during hot deformation processes such as hot rolling. The critical strain for the onset of dynamic recrystallization has been obtained as a function of strain at the maximum stress. In a...
